Team In Training - Donna Larson's Triathalon
Hyannis Triathalon June, 2003I am training to complete a Triathalon! In June, 2003 I will be running, cycling, and swimming as a member of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America's Team in Training, in the Hyannis Triathalon. My participation will help raise money for the society which works to help find a cure and elimination of leukemia and its allied cancers. To show my seriousness in this, I am training up to six times per week biking, swimming, running, and weight training. The Hyannis Triathalon is not the Iron Man, but a sprint distance marathon. This event consists of a 1/4 mile ocean swim, 10 mile bike, and 3.5 mile run which will be the biggest physical challenge that I have faced in my life. What Does the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Do?Leukemia is the number one killing disease of children, yet if affects ten times as many adults. Each week there are 2,000 new cases of leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma diagnosed. Until the cause for leukemia is discovered, the Society remains dedicated to supporting research towards a cure and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. I need help to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through your donations. I have set a person goal to raise $2,000 by February 28, 2003. I must meet this goal to compete in the event in June. Favorite Links |
